The National Water Safety Congress presented its Award of Merit to Shawn Alladio at the 13th Annual International Boating and Water Safety Summit in Palm Harbor, Fla., at the end of April.
The award recognizes Alladio and her K38 Water Safety program for its continuing efforts to train first responders of boating and water related accidents involving property damage, injuries and deaths involving recreational boaters and other users of the nation’s waterways.
In its 20 years of existence, K38’s training programs have become the standard for water rescue utilizing personal watercraft, according to the National Water Safety Congress – which credits Alladio's personal and selfless devotion in developing and openly sharing new and evolving emergency rescue techniques involving personal watercraft in not only saving lives, but also averting tragic instances.
